One Day Travel Trip from Hubli-Dharwad.

This was a family trip on 16th June 2018. I was driving the Maruti Celerio and my brother was in Hyundai i10. Below is the route map of our one day trip.

We started our journey at 7.45 am from Hubli. At around 9 am we were in Yellapur where we had breakfast.

  • Distance from Hubli to Yellapur: 70km (appox)
Sathodi is at a distance of 30 km from Yellapur. It took us almost 1 hour to reach. There are potholes in the first half stretch of the road. Remaining stretch is a newly built concrete road.

The concrete road is narrow and the mud is put on the sides. In monsoon, the mud will prove to be a danger.

The road passes by the backwaters of Kodsalli reservoir.

If you are not experienced driver then do yourself a favor don't drive this stretch. I believe two-wheeler would be a fun to ride here.

Please give way to vehicles moving uphill.

Finally, we reached the falls by 11 am.

They charged 5 Rupees as parking fees for each car. From the parking lot, you need to walk for about 1 km to reach the falls.

If you want to go near the stream then you need to do climb several boulders.

We spent a good amount of time here.

Jog Falls:

At 3 pm we had lunch in Yellapur. Actually, the plan was to visit Magod Falls. But changed the plan and we drove to Jog Falls. Jog Falls is 106 km from Yellapur.

The road is good and we reached Jog by 5.30 pm. We expected the falls to be in full strength. Unfortunately, that was not the case. It was not that bad either. worth visiting.

Car Parking Charges: 30 Rupees
Entry fee per person: 5 Rupees

Departed from Jog Falls at around 7:30 pm. We took the same route back to Hubli via Yellapur. The total distance from Jog Falls to Hubli via Yellapur: 186  km. We Had Dinner at Sirsi.

You might be wondering why we didn't take the route via Banvasi. Which is shorter by 26 km. Well, the Yellapur Hubli stretch is the treat to drive at night.

Reached Hubli by midnight 12.
