One day trip from Hubli-Dharwad:

Want some change from your daily life then visit Dandeli, it is just 73 km away from Hubli and 53 km from Dharwad. A perfect location for a day out with friends and family.

I recommend that you drive your own vehicle to reach or hire a vehicle.

Route Plan

  • Hubli-Dandeli 73 kms- approximately 2 Hours 30 min
Hubli Departure: 5 am
Dandeli Arrival: 7:30 am

  • First visit Syntheri Rocks
From Dandeli to Syntheri Rocks Distance: 50 km
Dandeli Departure: 7:30 am
Syntheri Rocks: 9:30 am (approx)
Spend one to two hours of time here.

  •  Back to Dandeli
(There is no direct route from Syntheri rocks to Kavala Caves, so you need to come back to Dandeli and then proceed to Kavala Caves)
Syntheri Rocks Departure: 11:00 am

Dandeli Arrival: 12:30 pm

  • Next visit to Kavala caves 

 Dandeli to Kaval caves Distance: 23 km
 Dandeli departure: 1:00 pm
 Kavala arrival: 1:40 pm

  •  Next visit to Sykes point
Kavala to Sykes point distance: 22 km
Kavala Departure: 4:00 pm
Sykes Point Arrival: 5:00 pm

  • Back to Hubli 
Approx Total Trip Distance: 270 km

Travel Tips:

  1. No eateries available once you leave Dandeli, so have your lunch at Dandeli
  2. Do not swim at Syntheri Rocks, many people have lost their life here.
  3. If you are not that fit, then take some rest while climbing back the steps at Syntheri rocks. One may feel gidiness when they climb back in hurry. 
  4. Keep some glucose and water with you.
  5. Take permission from KPCL before you enter Sykes point. Permit is provided at KPCL security post near to Sykes point.
  6. Please don't pollute the nature, you alive because of nature.

Best time to visit:

The best time to visit Dandeli is right after Rainy Season i.e in the month of October.
